They wanted to see whether an electric vehicle could feed electricity back to the grid. The company’s president, Tom Gage , dubbed the system “vehicle to grid” or V2G. For the utilities, it promised an economical way of meeting rising demand for electricity. AC Propulsion’s experiment was timely.

Such a transition would require the development of advanced battery and fuel-cell technologies as well as modernization of the electrical grid to manage the increased demand for electricity.

You can fill it up at the gas station, and you can plug it in to any 120-volt outlet. But when you do, your car essentially becomes an electric vehicle with a gas-tank backup. So youll have a cleaner, cheaper, quieter car for your local travel, and the gas tank is always there should you need to drive longer distances.
