EPA-estimated fuel economy is 126 MPGe city, 109 MPGe highway and 119 MPGe combined (28 kWh/100 miles), making it one of the most efficient electric vehicles on the market (tied with the Chevy Bolt, second after the Hyundai Ioniq Electric). The electric motor on the 2017 e-Golf has been upgraded as well.

The 2023 Prius Hybrid is available with a single electric motor and front-wheel drive (FWD) or with dual motors for all-wheel drive (AWD). The Toyota Highlander Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle – Advanced (FCHV-adv) ( earlier post ) achieved an estimated range of 431 miles on a single full tank of compressed hydrogen gas, and an average fuel economy of 68.3 mile extended round trip drive between Torrance, California and San Diego.

Vehicles also had to complete emissions, efficiency, and range events in which they had to achieve at least two-thirds the minimum fuel economy and range requirements. For fuel economy, this translates to at least 67 MPGe, or two-thirds of the 100 MPGe target for both vehicle classes.
