I think that’s fair since on a good day my 3 ½-year-old Chevrolet Volt has a 61-mile all-electric range, roughly comparable to a used Nissan Leaf or Fiat 500e. Tesla and GM both exceeded the state’s 200,000-unit sales cap on rebates. Would I have bought my Volt without the rebate? Nissan and Ford are expected to follow shortly.

She was in town for a little business and a little fun—test driving the next Volt mule. If Chelsea’s ear-to-ear grin was anything to go by, the Volt seemed to be progressing fine. We took Chelsea on a ride on the People Mover to get her reaction to the downsizing of the company she once belonged to and her test drive of the Volt.

Although charging infrastructure is beginning to find its way into cities, it may be awhile until they are available in residential neighborhoods en masse. Vancouvers trolley bus fleet operates at 600 volts and god knows how many amps. Im certain that they have customers that make 240 KW look like a 9v battery. Follow us on Twitter!
