Detroit Edison (DTE) President and Chief Operating Officer, Steven Kurmas, presented two out of four recently-purchased Ford Transit Connect Electric vehicles ( earlier post ) at DTE Energy headquarters in downtown Detroit. The vehicles were purchased from Suburban Ford of Sterling Heights, Mich., —Steven Kurmas.

Azure Dynamics Corporation has selected Lotus Lightweight Structures, a division of Group Lotus plc, to provide assembly support for the Transit Connect Electric for the European market. Lotus Lightweight Structures will provide all final assembly operations for vehicles bound to the European market.

Ford Motor Company has developed an intelligent vehicle-to-grid communications and control system for its plug-in hybrid electric vehicles that communicates directly with the electric grid. All 21 of Ford’s fleet of plug-in hybrid Escapes eventually will be equipped with the vehicle-to-grid communications technology.
