First was the short-lived, 2014-2016, very cool looking ELR plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). So what has changed in the past few years to send Cadillac on the road to an electric future? Not to be outdone, Cadillac has announced all new models coming from the company will be a battery electric vehicle (EVs).

It is the third best-selling SUV for Cadillac, coming in behind the larger Escalade and XT5, but ahead of the XT6 and Lyriq EV. liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque (on premium gasoline), driving either the front or all-four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

If you've got hundreds of millions of trouble-free NiMH miles in hybrids and electric cars, why bet the bank on relatively untested if promising lithium? But hold on.

Until then, we can always program the ESS to make what Lotus refers to as "more futuristic sounds for electric vehicles [that] can be created using sampled sounds and generated waveforms." This is especially important for electric and hybrid vehicles which can be difficult to hear at lower speeds due to their drive mechanism.
