The biggest obstacle for those who would prefer an alternative has been lack of purchasable plug-in electric vehicles since 2003 when auto manufacturers ceased production of plug-in EVs like the GM EV1, Honda EV Plus, and Toyota RAV4-EV. Along with Tedd Abramson’s Zero Truck in San Diego and Smith Trucks in London, we now have EVI (I keep wanting to write that as EV1:~). As someone who rides a bike and a motorcycle in traffic, any time you can remove an internal combustion engine from spewing crap out its tailpipe and in your face, it’s a good thing.
