New York City is adding 70 electric vehicles to its fleet: 50 new Chevrolet Volts, 10 fully electric Ford Transit Connect cargo vans, and 10 new fully electric Navistar E-star utility trucks. Because the electric drive train ensures little fuel combusts while driving, the RT also reduces emissions, making it an eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel trucks. It may be a few years before a full fleet of electric fire trucks makes its way to the U.S. first appeared on Clean Fleet Report.

Marine applications and locomotives are not eligible under this FOA, nor are prototype or novelty vehicles, golf carts, snowmobiles and other off-road recreational or sport vehicles.

Using Georgia Tech-owned golf carts to prove out the technology, a person sitting in a remote location can access real-time video streamed over LTE to drive the carts. Car Swap is an experiment using Ford-owned fleet vehicles.

Capitol Hill made for a strange sight earlier this week as it was surrounded by everything from two-seat sports cars to vehicles that resembled golf carts and bucket trucks. One of the most impressive vehicles on display was the ZENN - which stands for Zero Emission No Noise.

Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools. The plug-in Priuses are almost doubling the fuel efficiency of Google standard Prius fleet, getting 74 MPG rather than 41 MPG.

The Renault-Nissan Alliance is building fleet charging stations in Portland and Phoenix. They are either glorified golf cart city cars like this one or they are only for the very wealthy like the Tesla. We have those…they are readily available in our own domestic fleet. Electric cars a still a joke. aren’t there yet.
