BAE Systems has been selected by Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) and the Republic of Ireland’s National Transport Authority (NTA) to supply up to 600 electric power and propulsion systems for its new fleet of buses in Ireland. Johnson signed a bill at the end of 2020 that would ban the sale of cars that run entirely on internal combustion engines from 2030. Under the new law, all new homes built in the UK will require at least one “smart” charger, which must be able to switch on during off-peak hours when demand on the UK grid is lowest.
