We publish EV sales reports for numerous countries every month, which is a fun way of tracking the transition to electric vehicles while examining who is leading and who is lagging. We don’t have complete EV sales numbers for the USA, since some automakers don’t report sales of some of their electric models.

The Alliance of Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi announced their six-year plan—Alliance 2022—which sets a new target to double annual synergies to €10 billion by the end of the plan. This year, Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors became the world’s largest automotive group by sales volume.

so after the Nissan Leaf (Best Seller in 2018, 7th in 2020, 16th now) and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (3rd in 2019, 12th in 2020, now below the Top 20) , the last bastion of success in the Renault-Nissan Alliance is also suffering, so the warning sirens must be ringing in the Renault & Nissan European HQ's.

The PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), a subset of the electric car, combines a primary electric motor with a much smaller back-up engine fueled with a hydrocarbon/biofuel mix. (In In this paper PHEV refers solely to the long-range PHEV of 60 miles (100 km) electric-only range.)

In the last few weeks, not only has Chrysler made announcements, so has Mazda, Hyundai, and Nissan. There's even some speculation at least one of them could be stamped " Made in the USA." Nissan has already conducted tests with an experimental model and is deciding whether to bring the car to market , according to local media.
