UPS announced agreements for up to 46 million gallons of renewable diesel over the next three years, constituting a 15-fold increase over prior contracts and making UPS one of the largest users of renewable diesel in the world. Neste, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel.

Edeniq’s OilPlus corn oil extraction process is also being deployed at one Flint Hills plant and plans call for two others. OilPlus combines mechanical and chemical treatments to improve corn oil recovery. Flint Hills Resources operates ethanol plants in Fairbank, Iowa Falls, Menlo and Shell Rock, Iowa.

The biomass-based diesel standard for 2019 would be maintained at the 2018 levels of 2.1 Biomass-based diesel (billion gallons). Biomass-based diesel standard is final for 2018.
