Menahem Anderman, released this week, projects that the combined annual global electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) market will grow fourfold from 350,000 to 1.4 The report reveals sharper growth for PHEVs than for EVs, with government regulations heavily impacting regional market direction.

N ow that the number one automaker and the number two automaker has made the commitment to building Plug In hybrid / electric vehicles by 2010, another automotive giant is joining the race. Thus, Nissan will be offering serial plug in hybrids. It already has the Prius and five other hybrids selling in the U.S. Toyota ( TM ).
