With an announced on sale date of spring 2023, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is slowly getting attention from full-size pickup owners. Clean Fleet Report wanted to give an update as we are one year out from seeing the Silverado EV in Chevrolet dealerships. This review highlights the status of the Silverado EV as of May 2022.

In December, Chevy issued a stop-sale order on the Blazer EV , due to software issues relating to the vehicle’s infotainment system and DC fast-charging capabilities. Chevy announced on Friday that it’s now resuming Blazer EV sales, re-launching the vehicle’s three configurations with lower price tags starting at $50,195.

The EV charging provider claims that its DC line of products, including the Express 250 and the Express Plus, along with its AC lineup, like the CPF50 or Home Flex, can be sold or reconfigured with a Tesla NACS connector in late 2023. Recently Chevrolet announced that the Silverado EV would not be Tesla-compatible until model year 2025.

These V2H/V2G-enabled vehicles offer some three to 10 days powering the fridge and lights in case the power goes down. In case of power outage at home, the DC pins in the charger can send juice back into the house, keeping the lights on. A side benefit could be plugging in appliances to the car while camping rough.
