It’ll be mostly driven by the cost of gas. government will cover some of the costs. will sell a plug-in Toyota Prius after 2010, taking on the Chevrolet Volt, which goes on sale in November 2010. I think it’s Toyota and Honda that are doing the gambling.

Finally, in a first-of-its-kind partnership in the United States, Mitsubishi announced a strategic alliance with Oregon to develop an electric car charging infrastructure in the state.
