The Port of Corpus Christi Authority (Port of Corpus Christi) and Howard Midstream Energy Partners, LLC (Howard/HEP) have executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) stating their intention to convert Howard’s Javelina refinery services facility into the region’s first blue hydrogen production facility.

For the purposes of this program, eligible alternative fuel vehicles are limited to those powered by the following: electricity, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen, propane (LPG), or a mixture of fuels containing at least 85 percent methanol by volume (M85). Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Juniper GTL LLC President Vianney Valès announced the company will invest $100 million to renovate a dormant steam methane reformer in the Westlake, Louisiana area and convert it to a natural gas-to-liquids (GTL) facility, producing waxes, drilling fluids, diesel and naphtha.

FCC units are found in most refineries worldwide and are used to produce gasoline and diesel from vacuum gas oil (VGO). Dried wood is typically converted to approximately 75% (by weight) liquid with the balance converted to combustible gases and char. There, Ensyn’s RFO is used as a feedstock in Fluid Catalytic Crackers (FCCs).

CPS Energy of San Antonio has signed a Power Purchase Agreement for approximately 200 MW of power from the Texas Clean Energy Project (TCEP), located just west of Midland-Odessa. Gasification uses oxygen and steam at high pressures to convert coal into syngas, which is mainly a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide.

The US Department of Energy has selected six projects for funding that aim to find ways of converting captured carbon dioxide emissions from industrial sources into useful products such as fuel, plastics, cement, and fertilizers. The project team plans to process CO 2 -laden flue gas from a Capital Aggregates, Ltd.
