Netherlands-based Rocsys makes robotic devices that allow EVs to be charged without human intervention (see the feature in our January/February 2020 issue). As Rocsys co-founder and CEO Crijn Bouman pointed out, “It doesn’t make sense to have to manually plug it in while the vehicle can just park itself.” Crijn Bouman: Yeah.

All model variants are equipped with the same plug-in powertrain and 56 kWh LiFePo 4 Lithium-ion battery pack that give the vehicle a range of up to 200 km (depending on configuration). Standard AC charging takes seven hours, in-line with the industry standard for plug-in vehicles.

I participated in the Governor''s Office Conference Coast-to-Coast Workshop on E-Mobility in Sacramento sponsored by the governments of California and the Netherlands on Wednesday. Government workers who likely live close enough to not bother plugging in, I surmised. We have one mission: getting more consumers to buy plug-in cars.
