After spending the past year and a half converting a Porsche 914 to an electric vehicle, I decided to expand my horizons by designing an open-source electric vehicle (EV) conversion kit for a commonly used car. The Saturn came up a distant second, but everyone agreed that the Civic was the best. Damn the torpedoes.

It's a 2002 Saturn SL1 with 220,000 miles and a rough engine, however it still runs. I am thinking of doing a conversion like Daniel Lynn's car :-. Like the Chinese say "a journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step" well I have made my first step! I have bought my donor car.
