Cool Planet’s biogasoline blendstock is 100% compatible with pump gasoline. Cool Planet has devised a biomass-to-liquids thermochemical conversion process that simultaneously produces liquid fuels and sequesterable biochar useful as a soil amendment. One of the catalytic conversion processes creates the high-octane gasoline blendstock.

Southern Research Institute (SRI) entered into a cooperative agreement with the US Department of Energy (DOE) to develop a mild liquefaction process that will economically convert biomass to petroleum refinery-ready bio-oils. Other liquefaction processes either use severe conditions or expensive catalysts to achieve stability.
