Trailer-maker Colorado Teardrops is developing an EV adventure camper trailer that can extend the towing range of an EV. The Boulder has a 75 kWh battery pack built into the trailer frame to recharge the EV’s batteries. EV drivers can recharge their car’s battery pack using the batteries in the Boulder.

Supported by a $50,000-grant from the Colorado Energy Office, 16 low-income workers in Durango, Colorado will receive e-bikes through a pilot program of the 4 Corners Office of Resource Efficiency ( 4CORE ). The nonprofit received the grant funding from the state’s “Can Do Colorado Community Challenge.”.

Grid sourced electrical energy used to recharge the bus batteries will be augmented with solar energy collected with panels procured and installed under this project. The company is finalizing agreements with others eligible to participate, including the city of Minneapolis and Hennepin County in Minnesota and the city of Denver in Colorado. The city of Saint Paul, Minn., is expected to receive the first pre-production Ford Transit Connect Electric in late 2010.
