Reply Neutral KilgoreTrout @ Apr 19th 2009 5:14PM True, but if I havent been mislead by the documentary I have seen, the Tesla should have an even better solution: you just plug it in any normal home outlet and it doesnt require any special plug. Tesla probably did not sign up because they are already making EV cars.

For $50k you can get a Tesla sedan which will get hundreds of miles strictly on electric. Yeah, go buy a 59k Tesla that can go 200 miles… then your screwed, sure go park and get a hotel and charge it for 8 hours… then go another 200 miles, great for long trips i’m sure. — Goodbye 2. — Dan 3.

Posted by: CurtCurt | Apr 13, 2009 9:24:33 PM By the time they get these (or other plug-in hybrids) out into consumers hands, Tesla will be doing as well or better with pure EV tech, and by 2012 may even be making a tiny profit, instead of a huge loss, even though there production numbers are much smaller. Looks like they failed.
