Emissions from international transport (aviation and shipping) contribute another 3% to the total global GHG emissions. In the EU, 60% of the CH 4 and N 2 O emissions are emitted by the top six emitting countries: Germany, UK, France, Poland, Italy and Spain. Other greenhouse gases keep creeping up. Europe’s downward trend stalling.

Diesel demand fell by double-digits in Germany and the UK, and in France and Spain it fell by 5.4% The correlation between the decline in demand for diesel cars and the increase in CO 2 emissions was most evident in Europe’s largest markets. respectively. As a result, average CO 2 emissions increased in all of these car markets.
