In China, the recently opened Airbus China Innovation Center (ACIC) battery lab is looking to power a new generation of electric-powered aerial vehicles. However, China is rapidly catching up to the traditional heavyweights. Having a battery lab in China is the perfect complement to our electrical lab in Toulouse.

According to them, the nickel on the Toyota Prius battery is mined in Sudbury, Ontario and then it is smelted nearby where there are reports of damage to the environment. The nickel is then shipped to a refinery in Wales. Of course once the car is ready it is shipped again all around the world, including as far afield as the USA.

they didnt consider the fact that China was a nation with a appetite that would have well made the EV1 a profitable venture even if the cars tragically lasted longer, and cost less to build and maintain.
