My only serious gripe was that they’re supposed to take premium gasoline, returning roughly 36 mpg. But it helps preserve gasoline and those that find it unappealing (like I did) can simply turn it off — resulting in predictable and immediate throttle response — or save it for the boring portions of the route.

A few electric cars added to the mix will really boost that average, making things easier on the gasoline-powered side of the ledger.

EVs ain’t cheap Price is another EV purchase risk that is comparable to EV range. On top of the twenty or so luxury EVs already or soon to be on the market, Sony and Honda recently announced that they would be introducing yet another luxury EV in 2026. It would not be surprising to see it follow Mercedes’ lead.
