Study suggests China urban passenger transport emissions could peak in 2030

KCL study finds London air pollution from traffic improving, but continues to exceed limits in many parts of city

Researchers looked at changes in a number of pollutants including nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ), particulate matter as fine (PM 2.5 ) and coarser (PM 10 ) particles, carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) and black carbon. Overall, there was a decrease in total traffic between 2005 and 2014, mainly explained by the reduction in cars and taxis.
