Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., MMNA) said that its battery-electric Mitsubishi i has earned an EPA-rated 126 MPGe in city driving and 99 MPGe out on the highway (112 MPGe combined). Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA, Inc. The charging station is powered by 96, 175W photovoltaic modules from Mitsubishi Electric.

Driving electric just got cheaper, as Mitsubishi announced that its 2012 'i' electric car would be priced at just $27,990 before incentives when deliveries begin in California next January. That makes the 2012 Mitsubishi 'i' the least expensive plug-in car on sale in the U.S.

Presently, 19 different models of PEVs from 10 different manufacturers are available for purchase in California, but only three of these models are available nationally. While Tesla Motors was 23 part of the study, California data was unavailable since Tesla opted out of providing data in the state of California.
