While all 2012 Fisker Karma extended-range electric luxury sedans were built in Finland, the company always intended to assemble cars in the U.S. Before its collapse and bankruptcy, Fisker had bought a former General Motors plant in Delaware.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, GM announced that the Chevrolet Volt extended range electric vehicle will first be available late next year in California, with other lead markets to be named later. Volt production is scheduled to begin in late 2010. Pricing has not been announced. Pricing has not been announced.

Ford is pushing back EV production at its Oakville, Ontario, plant as it shifts to expand its hybrid lineup. The American automaker sold 20,233 EVs in Q1 2024, topping rival General Motors with 16,425 electric cars delivered. Rivian’s R1S was the seventh best-selling EV in the US last year as the company scales production.

Concurrent with upcoming deliveries of the Chevrolet Volt to dealerships in California, Connecticut (Tri-State Metro Area), Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Washington, D.C., Exceptions will be made for Volts that have been selected for extended testing at the factory.
