Juice is supplied via 77.4 Yes, you can save money by not buying gas, and yes the Ioniq5 appears to be still eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit if it’s leased (it’s not eligible if you buy since it’s assembled in South Korea). The maximum range on an Ioniq5 equipped as my tester is a claimed 256 miles.

I didn’t get a chance to take the 4xe off-road during my loan, but the Rubicon comes with all the off-road goodies such as Dana 44 heavy-duty axles at the front and rear and a full-time transfer case with a 4:1 low-range gear ratio. But if you have the scratch and the access to juice, it makes a strong argument for itself.

All plug-in cars these days come with a 120-volt charge cord. This will actually be sufficient for many if not most Volt drivers, and quite a few LEAF drivers. An empty Volt pack will take 10 hours to fully recharge; an empty LEAF about 20 hours. They’ve kept my LEAF juiced, after all. Cost of upgrade: under $300.

Given its range, and the rapidly growing free Supercharger network, the Tesla Model S works well for virtually everyone who can afford one. Tesla’s luck continues to hold, unchallenged as either a luxury or longer-range EV. Automakers continue to only offer sub-100 mile range vehicles. In public, Level 2 is often a compromise.
