In 1982 the committee was granted society status as the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology. He retired in 2005. Throughout his career, he consulted for technology companies including Bell Labs and IBM.

And, of course, my [older] brother read really well, and my father was a professor with a lot of books to read. In 2010 Nissan used it in its Leaf electric car.

No, but I knew who they were and they wrote the books and they lived in L.A. It’s part of my tribute to him. Granted, they’re all known as known as much sunnier places than California. Well more so now than it was prior to 2006 and that’s just because electric cars are becoming more readily available. Pass it on.
