Last week I said that this blog would be part journal, part guide to the conversion process but I've decided to separate those two categories by having a build thread for the bike with pretty pictures and having this blog as a sort of step by step guide. What parts do you need and how much will it cost?

2: Keep the cost as low as I can. I chose this site to share the process because I think it is the best and most informative site on the subject. My project goals are: 1: Do as much of the work myself as is pratical. (I I need a project!). 3: Use as many parts that are salvaged from other uses. 4: Learn as much as I can. 7: Have FUN.

Then towed the vehicle back to our hometown at the cost of $200 in rental and gasoline. Got home too late to do anything but blog about my electric car! 9/19/2011: Bought 1993 Plymouth Laser for $300. 10 hours of work, $500 spent, starting weight of vehicle: 2531 pounds. 9/20/2011: Cleaned car. 9/23/2011: Worked at my real job.

This is not only my first time taking on an EV project, but also my first time writing a blog. But the cost of a motor and controller is going to be the biggest expense. Hello everyone. Ok enough of that stuff. Oh by the way PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE feel free to share you experiences, and suggestions, concerning my project. Forklift motor?

I don't therefore need a high voltage motor, so I can keep my costs down. This blog also exists at [link]. The highest speed limit on the island is 70km/h, and that's only on one 3km stretch of road. The rest of the island is 50km/h. So speed is not a big concern. However, there are lots of hills on the island. looks nice.

It has been about 5 months since I posted my first blog about converting my car to electricity. I am looking about $100 per battery, and no shipping costs as a bonus.
