Volkswagen AG and its charging and energy brand Elli now operate 400,000 charging points in Europe—the largest charging network there, with more than 800 providers in 27 countries. Over the past 18 months, the network has doubled in size by adding about 200,000 new charging points.

Just a few months after the launch, Porsche is expanding its charging service for plug-in and electric vehicles ( earlier post ) by five countries and additional functions. The platform now has more than 49,000 charging points in twelve countries. A new feature offered by the Porsche Charging Service is a rating function.

Volkswagen has announced that it now controls Europe’s largest EV charging network with over 400,000 chargers. In a press release today, Volkswagen claims to control Europe’s largest EV charging network via its subsidiary Elli. This has come from billions spent by investors and government agencies alike.
