God knows I’m a big proponent of the minivan. But minivans have been in a massive decline ever since someone - that mythical someone - decided they were uncool. Toyota soldiers on as one of the few remaining automakers still carrying the minivan torch, now as an all-hybrid lineup. Yep, a turbo atop a hybrid.

Plug-in hybrids were even worse with 146 percent more issues. However, standard hybrids actually outperformed every other group with 26 percent fewer problems than vehicles wholly reliant on gasoline. But it also left your author wondering why standard hybrids weren’t seeing the same number of problems.

While Toyota's press conference today at the Los Angeles Auto Show covered the new 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan, a very special Prius hybrid on the show floor signaled the company's first tentative step into the world of plug-in vehicles. Toyota will deliver the first of 150 Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrids early next year.
