After months of doom and gloom for the auto industry in the USA, there is finally a ray of hope courtesy of hybrid cars. Reported sales of hybrids in the US increased by 5.2 Indeed sales of hybrids have significantly out-performed the total light duty vehicle market, which dropped by 27.7 per cent year on year.

According to reports in the Detroit News , General Motors has decided to produce the Cadillac Converj, which will be an extended range electric vehicle derived from the Voltec platform. The concept car originally made its debut earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show.

" In other words, General Motors is going to lose its shirt until the Volt establishes itself in the marketplace. It also offers eight hybrid models. General Motors has sought $10.3 Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. Thats short-sighted.
