Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Limited (TMCA) has begun production of the Camry Hybrid in Australia; the line-off ceremony was attended by Australia Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. Toyota Australia will be only the fifth country in the world that produces hybrid vehicles and that makes me proud of Australia.

Both Edwards and Miller believe that for the foreseeable future hybrid powertrains will not dramatically increase their market share until fuel prices remain high for an extended period of time.
