Aptera went under. Politicians hoping to exploit the moment spread the notion that American gasoline could flow bountifully, cheaply and forever were the boot heel of big government taken off the neck of poor oil companies. Fisker is delivering the Karma, but not without glitches and its DOE loan is being questioned.

Oil has passed $120 a barrel. An unusual entrant into the EV arena, Aptera , a three-wheeled futuristic electric car, continues to stir excitement, and would appear to be more than science fiction. The tide appears to be turning. Electric cars are in the news almost daily. GM lost $3.25 billion in the first quarter.

My friend (same one who made the ice cream truck sound effect comment to me) asked me if this was some kind of conspiracy from gasoline advocates to try and further delay mass acceptance of EVs. While I dont know how they would go about doing the testing (scientifically speaking), it should be quite feasible. a key Randy C.
