Volvo Cars launched the battery-electric Volvo C40 Recharge; based on the CMA vehicle platform it is the first Volvo model designed as pure electric only. Volvo Cars January global sales up 2%; Recharge models up 31%, for 40.7% of all cars sold

Sales of Volvo CarsĀ“ Recharge models of fully electric and plug-in hybrid cars increased by 31% in January year-on-year, accounting for 40.7% of all Volvo cars sold globally during the month. The share of fully electric cars stood at 16.2%. The increase was led by markets such as the UK, Italy and Belgium.

Volvo Cars opens order books for new electric C40 Recharge

The all-electric Volvo C40 Recharge is available online via volvocars.com in select markets across Europe as of this week. The propulsion system consists of twin electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle, powered by a 78 kWh battery that can be fast-charged to 80% in about 40 minutes.

EDF launches subsidiary Hynamics to produce and to market low-carbon hydrogen
