The Volkswagen Group has signed a contract for vehicle assembly in Algeria through a joint venture with SOVAC S.P.A., From the spring of 2017, the joint venture company SOVAC Production S.P.A. SOVAC Production S.P.A. will be successively building up production capacity to more than 100 vehicles per day.

The EV launch comes as part of a product offensive, in which SEAT will launch one new car every six months until 2020. Furthermore, de Meo reaffirmed SEAT’s commitment to opening outward and building a digital ecosystem around the car. SEAT, a member of the Volkswagen Group, will introduce its first fully electric vehicle in 2020.
