General Motors plans to make an upcoming Acura-branded electric vehicle in 2024 at the same Tennessee plant that will assemble the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, while a more affordable Honda crossover set to be about the same size could be made by GM in Mexico beginning in 2023.

In North America, Honda will procure Ultium batteries from GM. Separately, aside from GM, Honda is exploring the possibility of creating a joint venture company for battery production. For North America, in 2024, Honda will introduce two mid- to large-size EV models currently being developed jointly with GM.

Riding on the Ultium architecture, powertrain and battery system used by GM models such as the Chevrolet Blazer means the Prologue should be capable of offering more than 500km of range. Judging by the photos, some of the controls and componentry appear to be from the GM parts bin. 2024 Honda Prologue controls includes GM parts.

Which affordable EV regained its EV tax credit eligibility this week? GM confirmed Friday a huge price cut for the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV , as it resumed deliveries on the model. The Blazer EV had been under a stop-sale as GM sorted out a string of software woes affecting drivability, usability, and sometimes charging.
