Great style, drives equally as well as it looks, and gets more than 37 mpg. The Tucson Hybrid looks like no other compact SUV, as it veers far from the sharp-angles on its closest competitors–the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4. The EPA estimates fuel economy to be 37 mpg city/36 highway/37 combined. Road Test: 2018 Kia Sportage.

Power, but not enough efficiency to hit 30 mpg. The EPA fuel economy numbers of 21 mpg city/26 highway/23 combined are almost exactly what we got covering 301 miles driving through Southern California. We were hoping to get 30 mpg on the highway, but no matter how hard we tried the best we could do was 28.1

Hyundai’s 2018 Plug-in Hybrid Ioniq ( earlier post ) is heading to dealerships now—joining the Hybrid and Electric models—with an aggressive starting price of $24,950—$5,000 less than the full battery-electric version of the Ioniq but with more than five times the range. The PHEV has a 3.3 Ioniq Hybrid (Blue).
