In November 2012, General Motors announced a goal of putting 500,000 electrified vehicles on the road by 2017. That encompasses any type of vehicle that uses electricity as motive power, from mild hybrids to plug-in hybrids, and from extended-range electric cars to all-electric vehicles.

General Motors and its joint ventures in China delivered a March record of 345,448 vehicles, an increase of 16% from a year earlier. Sales of the GL8 MPV family surged 92% year on year, fueled by the new-generation GL8 and GL8 Avenir launched in November. It was the company’s largest year-over-year growth since last August.
