The second generation 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid continues what Kia started in 2017 when the Niro Hybrid debuted. Clean Fleet Report recently had the opportunity to be among the first to drive the 2023 Niro Hybrid. Clean Fleet Report was driving the Niro SX Touring model with comfortable and supportive heated and ventilated front seats.

First debuting in 2017, the Niro is a key model for Kia as it offers three different propulsion choices, all of which offer excellent fuel economy or all-electric driving range. Clean Fleet Report’s was painted in Cityscape Green, but the most eye catching element from the side view is what Kia calls the Aero Blade.

Clean Fleet Report drove the Bronco Sport 4WD Outer Banks with the 1.5L, which delivered smooth performance and ample oomph, with 0-60 times around eight seconds. Fuel economy numbers reported by Clean Fleet Report are non-scientific and represent the reviewer’s driving experience using the dash gauge computer. Cute, but fun.

Clean Fleet Report drove the Niro PHEV EX Premium, and came away with a good feeling about this compact crossover that can deliver a 560-mile driving range. All three Niro PHEV trim levels, LXS, EX and EX Premium (the version Clean Fleet Report tested) have the same propulsion system–a 1.6 Smooth Operator. kW electric motor.

Body, bumper and closure content grew by 58% from 2009 to 2012, with 30% of all hoods on 2012 vehicles being aluminum, saving a total of 100 million pounds (45,359 tonnes) of vehicle weight across the entire fleet. For example, the trend line for aluminum hood penetration predicts a minimum share for aluminum of 41% by 2017 and 53% by 2025.
