Ballard initially announced a Letter of Intent in September, 2017 and shipped modules to Van Hool in 2018. Ballard’s customer service organization at our Hobro, Denmark facility is available to support the ExquiCity fleet as well as all other Ballard-powered buses operating in Europe.

A new study by a team from Aarhus University in Denmark has found that car dealerships pose a significant barrier to electric vehicle adoption at the point of sale due to a perceived lack of business case viability in relation to gasoline and diesel vehicles. Only three North America-focused studies exist as of 2017. outside of Norway.

With almost 250,000 electric cars at the end of 2017, the five countries account for roughly 8% of the total number of electric cars around the world.

In total, DB Schenker’s electric light-duty trucks deliver almost silently and with zero emissions to customers in inner-city locations in 20 European cities in Germany, Finland, Denmark, UK, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Spain and Italy. Charging can be reduced to around 90 minutes if a high-speed charger is used.

It has already seen enthusiastic pick-up from Polestar 2 owners—more than 400 upgrades have been downloaded in its first weeks of availability since late November. The additional power and torque is available as a boost between 70 and 130 km/h, resulting in even more rapid acceleration in the mid-range.

The vehicle will be shipped to selected customers by the end of 2017. We plan to deliver the first nine fully electric trucks to our customers in Austria by the end of 2017 – including large supermarket chains, breweries and haulers. An LNG campaign was launched in September 2017 in cooperation with Volkswagen’s Group Logistics.
