According to the American Public Transit Association (APTA), alternative fuels and advanced hybrid drivetrains powered more than half of all transit buses in 2017 and 2018. In the ten-year period from 2008 to 2018, the share of conventional diesel buses dropped from 70% to 42%.

An analysis by JATO Dynamics has found that average new vehicle CO 2 emissions in European increased in 2018, with the total average increasing by 2.4 g/km in 2018—the highest average of the last four years. This trend was confirmed in 2017 with the first average CO 2 emission increase in years of 0.3 g/km to 120.5

The warning came as a new report published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) confirmed that the fleet average CO 2 of newly registered cars rose for the first time in 2017, despite vehicles becoming ever more efficient. million strong new car market still powered, wholly or in part, by gasoline or diesel.

This $130-million dollar investment in CNG capacity for 2018 builds on previous UPS investments of $100 million dollars in 2016 and $90 million dollars in 2017. UPS will have invested more than $1 billion in alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles and fueling stations from 2008 through 2018.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has set goals to offer Zero-Carbon Redeem renewable natural gas (RNG) at all of its fueling stations by 2025. Zero-Carbon is based on the average carbon index score (approved by the California Air Resources Board) of Clean Energy’s fuel supply portfolio.
