GM’s Maven Gig ( earlier post ) is expanding its initial offering in San Diego to now include San Francisco. Maven has been operating on-demand ridesharing rentals in San Francisco since August 2016; more than 20 million miles have been driven in San Francisco and nearly 1 million rides have been given.

Maven Gig vehicles are available for flat weekly rates that include the car, unlimited miles, insurance (minus deductibles) and maintenance. Maven Gig drivers have taken trips from San Francisco to Portland (~635 miles) and from San Diego to Los Angeles (~120 miles). Pricing starts at $229 per week plus taxes.
