Waste and recycling company Republic Services, Inc. has deployed 23 compressed natural gas (CNG) solid waste and recycling trucks to serve customers throughout the Twin Cities area. Nationwide, the company plans to have more than 3,100 trucks nationwide running on natural gas and other alternative fuels by the end of 2015.

Sources already subject to the 2012 NSPS requirements for VOC reductions that also would be covered by the proposed 2015 methane requirements would not have to install additional controls, because the controls to reduce VOCs reduce both pollutants.
