Air pollution from sources such as transport and agriculture is still being emitted above legal limits in 10 European Union (EU) Member States according to new data published by the European Environment Agency (EEA). The main reasons for the exceedances are emissions from road transport (NO x ) and agriculture (NH 3 ).

2015 target: 130 g CO 2 /km. The average CO 2 emissions level of a new car sold in 2013 was 127 g CO 2 /km; the target for 2015 was 130 g/km. Thus, in 2013 the European Union fleet already collectively met its legal target for 2015. People in Malta, Denmark and Greece bought the lightest models on average.

BASF and Russia’s Gazprom signed a legally binding basic agreement to swap assets of equivalent value. which is active in the exploration and production of oil and gas in the southern North Sea (Netherlands, UK and Denmark). By 2015, the company plans to increase production to at least 160 million boe.

Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology have shown that between 87 and 98 percent of ships comply with the tougher regulations for sulfur emissions that were introduced in northern Europe in 2015.
