With a starting price of $29,995, after federal tax credit and including destination and delivery costs, Ford expects C-MAX Energi to be the US’ most affordable plug-in hybrid. Ford projects that its Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid, due out in early 2013, will deliver 100+ MPGe combined.

Production of the 2014 model year Prius Plug-in begins in October with pricing taking effect when these models arrive in showrooms in November.The Prius Plug-in qualifies for a Federal Tax Credit of up to $2,500 in addition to the State of California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (CVRP) which offers a $1,500 rebate.

Ford began production of the 2013 C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid vehicle ( earlier post ) at Michigan Assembly in October, and the vehicles are heading for showrooms. Ford’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle on the market offers EPA-rated 108 mpg equivalent city, 92 mpge highway and 100 mpge combined;the all-electric range is up to 21 miles.
