Japanese manufacturer Honda has applied its fuel saving technology to its minivan range as indicated by the unveiling of the 2011 Odyssey. The Honda Odyssey minivan has a lower roofline compared to the current model – down 1.6inches compared to the 2010 version – and also has a wider track – around 1.4inches wider.

Though it has made no secret of the fact that it believes the future of green cars lies with pure electric vehicles, Nissan plans to sell hybrid vehicles based on its own technology in Japan from 2011. The company has already outlined plans to introduce an electric car in Japan and the US by the end of 2010.
