The human health benefits associated with improvements in air quality related to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions improvements can offset 26–1,050% of the cost of US carbon policies, depending upon the type of policy, according to a new study by a team from MIT. Carbon-reduction policies significantly improve air quality.

An interdisciplinary team from MIT, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and elsewhere has identified the major particles upon which cirrus clouds form. From 2002 to 2011, the team conducted four flight missions in regions of North America and Central America where cirrus clouds often form.

Earlier this month, researchers from MIT said they had developed a process that within three years could lead to electric car batteries able to recharge in as little as five minutes. Also hopefully by the end of 2011 (when the Model S car is due) our economy has recovered somewhat. Want $7K for an Electric Car?
