The new Kizashi will have a hybrid option, reportedly in 2011. During its recent introduction of the new mid-size Kizashi sedan at the end of July, Suzuki said that it was developing a hybrid version to be added to the lineup in the future. Suzuki says that fuel economy will be competitive with either choice.

Suzuki is set to exhibit two new exciting green car concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month, a Swift with Plug-in Hybrid system and an SX4 Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV). The type of petrol engine used for the Hybrid is similar to the 3-cylinder 658 cc fitted to the compact and low tax ‘Kei’ cars in Japan. .
