Porsche 914 EV Conversion

Since I live in Portland, Oregon, I went to a meeting with the Oregon Electric Vehicle Association and found out about several companies that provided drop-in electric conversion kits for existing cars. A lot has happened over the past few months and I hope to post all that info here for your perusal.

I recently sent off an e-mail to Azure Dynamics, the maker of the DMOC445 AC motor controller in the 914 kit. Thanks for the info on the SPEEDO_BUF output on the controller. I asked how I could tap into the motor encoder signals to create an RPM signal for the tachometer on the dashboard. pdf file, I didn't think it was active.

First of all he’s already gone where I want to go by installing solar, back in 2007. He’s been silent about it in the media and his own web site doesn’t even list the bill or offer any info on it. Previous Prius conversion kits have been limited by Toyota programming to a top speed of 34 mph in all-electric mode.

Many EV groups online for more info or google EV clubs or EV racing and follow the website’s links. Only listen to people who drive EV’s everyday for advice as many myths abound about them. I did mine for $150 but I have a lot of stuff I got for free lying around.
