Suzuki is set to exhibit two new exciting green car concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month, a Swift with Plug-in Hybrid system and an SX4 Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV). The type of petrol engine used for the Hybrid is similar to the 3-cylinder 658 cc fitted to the compact and low tax ‘Kei’ cars in Japan. .

Toyota has now moved to have a plug-in approved in Japan and will test them on California campuses. Meanwhile GM is actively moving forward on the Volt. As well as the hybrid set up, riders can also toggle between two other modes on a HyS scooter: electric and petrol. GM is even considering renting its batteries.
